RIP MJ: PARIS SAYS GOODBYE

For a young girl to be living her entire life in secrecy to shroud herself from the prying eyes of the public, it took an immense amount of courage for Paris Jackson to come up on stage, in front of millions of people, just to say how much she misses and loves her daddy.

"I just wanted to say, ever since I was born,
Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine,
and I just wanted so say I love him so much."

- Paris Katherine Jackson

On the 7th of July, thousands of people congregated at the Staples Center to remember the legacy of the eternal King of Pop, Michael Jackson. I watched the memorial service on the net along with many millions of his fans and i was very touched by the outpouring of emotions from MJ's family, friends and his legion of fans.

Michael Jackson's Casket

And to the people out there who question the trio's biological parentage, i'd suggest they give it a rest. Biological or not, Michael has given them all the love that a father can give to his children and we know that they have grown up to become decent responsible kids. At the very least, we could give credit to Michael being a great parent.

Paris & Prince with Family

To Prince, Paris & Blanket, i can only imagine how painful it has been for you to lose the most important person in your life, but be strong and always remember that your dad will always be looking out for you from above.

BIRTHDAY: IAN'S 23RD @ DEMPSEY HILL

This evening, we celebrated Ian's 23rd birthday. Well, he didn't actually turn 23 yet, but we had an early birthday celebration surprise for him at Dempsey Hill.

Dempsey Hill

We had dinner at Barracks, which is one part of the House, Barracks & Camp trio of eateries, refurbished from an old (and some people say haunted) army camp.

House, Camp & Barracks

The food is actually quite amazing. There was the Squid Ink Skinny Pizza and Paella that Eddee and Ian ordered in advance for us to share. I had myself a mushroom risotto, Gary ordered a beef steak and Edison had himself a red snapper broth.

Here are some photos of the tantalizing and delicious food we sampled during dinner:

Much later, we headed down to Ben & Jerry's for for some ice-cream & cakes. We had earlier planned on having wine somewhere but hey, ice-cream wins :)

Welcome To Ben & Jerry's

We had a slice of cheesecake to officially celebrate Ian's birthday. It was a pretty tasty cake. Take a look!

After our cake, we indulged ourselves with two pints of ice-cream: Dublin Mudslide & S'mores!

It was an evening well spent and i think we all pretty much enjoyed ourselves, especially with the food. I'll end of this entry with a group photo of us at Barracks.

To my dearest friend, Ian, i wish you once again, a Happy 23rd Birthday and as cliché as it may sounds, may you have a wonderful year ahead.

BIRTHDAY: SERENE'S 21ST @ RAFFLES TOWN CLUB

It's a Wednesday night and today Serene celebrates her big two-one. Yes, the little mermaid living in the pineapple under the sea whom i've known for 3 years finally turns 21 today!

The celebration took place at The Raffles Town Club. The perfect setting for the little princess. It was a totally royal affair. Hey, I was Prince Winston for the night. Haha.

Welcome To The Raffles Town Club

Here's a photo of the suite interior. Doesn't it just look cozy? The best thing is that the room overlooks the swimming pool below. Just reminds me of taking another long vacation soon :) Now, let's see where i can go, hmm...

The Suite Interior

I also managed to catch up with some of the guys from The Clique. I haven't seen some of them for a couple of months. We had a few good laughs over drinks and food. And oh, for the record, Jovan is still as corny as ever! Here's a group photo of us...

Just The Clique

...and a few individual photos of me and some of the guys :) It's really been a long time since i've had endless cam-whoring sessions with The Clique. Ahh, all the memories!

Me And The Guys

The cakes came soon after, and oh, did i mention? It was Weyman's birthday as well, only that he was turning 22 today. We also had a cake for him. A mango cake, which i absolutely loved and devoured!

The Birthday Boy & Girl

Thereafter, we spent the rest of the night playing charades! It was damn funny watching people act out the words. My turn came and i ended up with words like 'Gandhi', 'Paris Hilton' and 'Patrick The Starfish'! Damn hard, can? How the hell was i suppose to act out Gandhi? Louis ended up helping me in the end. Ya la, he can act better than me.

Games & Charades

Well, it was a wonderful night for me, well maybe the vodka helped too, since i was rather ill tonight. I'll end this entry with a photo of me and and who else other than the sweetest birthday girl :)

Serene And Me

To my little mermaid, Happy 21st Birthday! I'm so proud and happy for you on crossing this special milestone in your life. All the best in the year head and i love you always!

RIP MJ: IN LOVING MEMORY OF

IN LOVING MEMORY OF

MICHAEL JOSEPH JACKSON
1968 - 2009

May you moonwalk forever in the heavens...

I woke up this morning to the shocking news of Michael Jackson's passing. Honestly, it was so sudden that it took me an entire day to before the sad news finally sank in.

Michael has been an idol of mine from young, actually, my very first idol, ever since i heard his song, Thriller. I grew up during the post-Bad era, sometime during the Dangerous and HIStory era. I bought every single album and listened to all his songs. He was an inspiration to me and no one knows this, but i started writing music because of him.

As much as i am saddened by the news of his demise, i would think that Michael would rather we celebrate his life and not grieve. I've been listening to his songs all day and i feel happy just listening to them all over again.

On a personal note, i believe that he was just a lost boy in a man's body, much like Peter Pan, who he always saw himself as, to the extent that he sculpted his face into the liking of Peter. He could trust no one in his life and as he turned to children as friends he could trust and relate to, he was eventually accused for paedophilia. All in all, he was probably just a very misunderstood individual.

Even so, Michael was still one of the greatest things to happen to mankind and the joy and happiness he gave to us was insurmountable. We will always remember how you made the world a better place to live in through your music. May you always moonwalk forever in the heavens.

BIRTHDAY: MY 22ND @ HOME

11.59 AM. One minute to my birthday. It was nice being alone on the eve of my birthday, or so i thought. I had initially planned on holding a party to celebrate my 22nd birthday but decided against it eventually, dinner at grandma's place was good enough. I thought, perhaps, turning 22 was not significant enough but at the eleventh hour, i thought, it would have been nice to have the people i love celebrate it with me.

Happy Birthday Winston!

And then the clock struck twelve. A knock came on the door, i didn't thought much of the coincidence of the timing of the knock, and besides my brother was coming in and out all day. And so, when i came to the door, 'lo and behold, the very people who i had wished were here with me, were magically standing right in front of me. With a cake and a birthday song, i was so shocked by the turn of events that i ended up smiling so hard like a retard that it hurt so badly. I really have no words to describe that moment, but i do have this photo of my reaction when i first opened the door.

My Birthday Surprise

There and then, i realized, you didn't need to have swanky parties or say grand affairs to celebrate your birthdays, all you need are the people who matter to you the most, a cake with candles and that's pretty much it :) The end of the equation.

Cakes And Afters

And so, going into detail, the biggest surprise was when my family and my friends were in cahoots earlier in the day. It was amazing that they could successfully keep such a secret from me. I have this knack of knowing when someone is up to something, that's why i seldom get into situations where i am caught off guard. Here's a photo of them preparing the cake at the dining room just slightly before midnight.

Before The Clock Strikes Midnight

Once again, thank you to the people who made my 22nd birthday a really special and memorable experience. Here are the cunning culprits!

Me And My Family

Me And My Friends

You guys made my day, really :) Thank you.
